My visit to Washington - part one

30/11/2007
Britain and America have very often done things together, and sacrificed together. That's why it was important for me to visit Arlington National Cemetery and show respect for what Americans have done in the cause of freedom across the world.

When we see all those graves it is impossible to express in words what we feel. All we can do is stand back and respect those that gave their lives. Each gravestone is a reminder to us that we must work to preserve the peace that those brave soldiers died for.

Superb DC - I cherish your pictures and for the obvious care that has been taken in the making of your record of this journey. Thank-you
