Economists asked 10,000 people to rate the happiness changes in their life would bring - from pay rises to spending time with family and friends. They found that face-to-face time with loved ones every day is worth the equivalent of an £85,000 pay rise, while meeting with friends or relatives once or twice a week was worth £69,500.
