Backseat interview

05/11/2007
On the day that we should have had an election, I gave a speech on about the change that Britain so desperately needs, we produced an eye-catching poster and I also gave this exclusive interview on "The Day That Never Was".

Subject: The 'Knock-on' Labour government

David, your anger was clearly visible when Gordon Brown called off the election that he was planning. You were not alone, most of our country were furious about the way Gordon Brown led us all a merry dance. Brown played politics with the British people.

The theme of Labour incompetence is one that resonates. This is very much a 'Knock-on' government, knock-on in terms of the way they fumble and mismanage things and knock-on in terms of the after effects of their failed policies.

The fact that Labour postponed the election will only increase the scale of their defeat at the next election. This is a government running on empty, devoid of initiative and groping around for a sense of direction. There is no way back for Labour.

Kirsty says you are putting on weight David and seem to be getting 'a double chin'.

OK I just think it's the angle of the camera but try saying that to an admirer!
