It was reported in the Daily Mail today, that a 57 year old Male has been refused an Operation on his Ankle. He is in Pain, and they Will NOT operate unless he gives up Smoking!
He states he has tried giving up, but is unable too. He quite rightly says, that advertising on TV in the 60s is to blame, and it was common practice to Smoke in those days
So its already started picking and choosing the people whom are operated on!
Deal, these little hitlers are getting worse what has smoking got to do with an ankle operation - Duh
I am seriously considering not bothering to vote at all in the next election unless Cameron comes out of the cupboard and starts to stand up for peoples freedom and choice.
Off to Spain for a holiday, I will let you know about the non existant ban that is there, everyone ignores it, upon my return.
Just lost another friend to Spain gone to live there, one in a line of many,=.
Deal, smoking ban what smoking ban, there is no smoking ban in Majorca. Pubs, Resturants, Bars full to capacity with smokers. Ashtrays on the tables and the bars no problem whatsoever. Atmosphere brilliant and they are making a bomb in the pubs. Why would you want to spend a holiday in England and be treated like a dog put outside when you can go to Spain and be treated like a human being and welcomed with open arms. England with its foul weather and spiteful laws can get stuffed give me the civilised Spanish any day.
Great!
Smokeless, you are right there - whilst the pubs in Spain are doing a roaring trade ours are going down the pan, situation in Reading.
"PUB profits are going up in smoke since the smoking ban was introduced.
Many of the town’s independent drinking establishments have reported losses of tens of thousands of pounds since the change in the law introduced on July 1
“Lots of people haven’t been out for months – they stay at home with a bottle of wine instead.”
And thats in the summer, we are now going into the winter
STop whingeing Amberlina - Smoking has nothing to do with Asthma - air has got cleaner and yet Asthma rates have gone up - I used to have a friend who had asthma and I would happily smoke in front of him in pubs and he never once had an attack. It would have been perfectly possible to have SMOKING AND NON-SMOKING PUBS.
Well the truth about ASH is finally out this is the latest from Maureen Moore of ASH Scotland, they are now showing their true colours.
"Call for Scotland to be entirely smoke-free country"
http://tinyurl.com/23r7yp
ASH is not a charity as it claims to be, it is politcally involved with government, it is funded by government, it is also funded by Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation. Can anyone tell my when tax payers agreed for their money to be spend on ASH, and when all those people donating to Cancer Research and British Heart Foundation agreed that their money should be spent on ASH and not the research that it was intented for. It is about time that someone investigated this so called charity and exposed it for what it is. Their accounts are on their website and you can see that one person received £50,000 for one years work!
They are now pursuing a total prohibition policy on perfectly law abiding citizens who pay a hell of a lot of tax.
I am appalled with what this organisation gets away with, with other peoples money.
I had a similar feeling regarding Gun Control Network, the big cheese Gill Marshal Andrews married to a Labour MP, Labour government insisting this national body were speaking for the whole of UK. There were 6 of of them FFS.
I have no doubt that ASH are similar, a bunch of knarled bitter crones hissing venomous rhetoric in the back room of a pub. Having to walk passed a bar propped up by burly brickies slaking their thirst after a hard days graft. Oh no they're smoking, we'll see about that.
Smokeless me too. You know the trouble with a lot of MPs and people from organisations like ASH they realy have no idea how the ordinary man/woman lives in the real world. When you have spent a day at work, a week at work ect the last thing you want is someone telling you how to live your life and what you should or shouldnt be doing. Its one thing to advise people its totally another to force them by other means to make them do what you think they should do.
The fact is I dont know how any government that makes billions of pounds out of smokers has the gall to then treat them like second class citizens. Having just returned from Spain I was very impressed at how much more civilised they are as a nation than us, particularly with regard to smokers.
The Nazis were the first government to impose a smoking ban in so called public buildings, their theory, "you have a duty to the nation to keep your body healthy" so how come 60 years later Adolfs policies are now being implemented and followed. Those MPs that voted for this should in my humble opinion hang their heads in shame, what did my father fight for in the second world war, when Hitlers policies are now being introduced here. Its disgusting.
Perhaps it is "the new world order". Hitler also disarmed the Jews of course. And introduced ID cards.
He also recognised that the people of a nation cannot be repressed indefinitely. Take a look at Burma, it will come to Zimbabwe too. Do we want this green and pleasant land under the jackboot of tyrannical despots? I think not. The people here are strong enough to take it back.
Politicians are voted in to handle the running of the country how we the people want it run.
I did not vote for power to be handed over to Brussels.
I did not vote for my liberty to be taken away from me.
I did not vote for my pastime to be destroyed.
I want a smoke with my beer.
I want to shoot my guns.
I want to be free to drive my car where I choose when I choose.
This next election won't be won on crack pot ideas to save the planet, it could be won by a party that promises to give good honest people back their liberties. Promises to destroy the conception of state control.
Picture a balance scale, two pans, one marked give the other take. Government need to maintain the balance. You cant keep adding stuff to the take pan and not the give. The balance is upset.
Take the DNA database. People object though it is obvious they have nothing to fear, it could solve crimes and make them safer. On the other hand it could be used towards the 1984 scenario. Give something back, give us the US second amendment in all its glory. The right to bear arms and form a militia. The 1984 scenario cannot happen, we would then support DNA db. The equilibrium of the balance would be maintained, good government.
Take the smoking ban, we know it need not have been such a draconian move. There could be a sign on the door saying smoking pub or non smoking pub. You take something but you have to give something back. You've given us a pub where we won't have to put up with self righteous whingers complaining about us harming them through passive smoking. The balance is still a bit off so you'd better not be taking anything more or you will face the consequences.
Right there Smokeless I have been waiting for this one, the next step will be a ban in your car and who is going to police it - laughable
This article once again shows how insignificant ETS is
"Despite the growing medical (and political) consensus about the dangers of passive smoking, the issue has remained controversial. The Swedish toxicologist Robert Nilsson, while accepting the plausibility of the lung cancer link and the fact that numerous studies appear to show a statistically significant increase in risk, has questioned its epidemiological significance (13). He offered estimates of the annual incidence of cancer in a population of 100,000 resulting from various environmental factors: unknown (177), diet (135), smoking (68), other lifestyle factors (45), sunshine (23)...environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) (2). By contrast, in a population which consumes Japanese seafood (which contains Arsenic) this will cause 12 cases of cancer, where there are traces of natural Arsenic in drinking water, this will cause five cases; eating mushrooms will cause three cases. In other words, the risk of ETS is comparable with that of environmental agents that are generally regarded as an insignificant threat to health.

I have decided that I wont vote at the next election for the first time ever unless the Conservatives step forward and restore the same rights to smokers as non smokers.
Well, on thursday. My Wife and I went shopping. Went into the British Legion Club to renew our Membership. And politely told that it is no longer a British Legion Club, but a Private Club. So arrived home and phoned up their Head Office, no help there!
Went into Portsmouth, and they are very helpful, and should transfer my membership within a month. They were surprised my one is closed, they had only heard about another one in financial trouble about to close!
I have to be honest, that no mention about the Smoking Ban was mentioned. Even though I brought it up. So we have to have our own thoughts on this, but it does seem strange, that its happened in the same year?
Yorker, you mean when the bricks collapse from the constant pounding and we finally break through to the uneducated people that dont understand maths, wow that would be something.
Deal, you are probably quite right about the British Legion - read this
Smoke ban hits wet sales in bars
The worrying figures – one of the biggest surveys since the ban took effect – show the bar sector is suffering heavily under the legislation, while the story could be even worse for pubs.
It is absolutely Sad. The Vice-Chairman, today; has gone home upset. A life-long member of the Legion Club; fought for our Country. Evidently 10 Clubs of the British Legion for Closure. But I still cant prove that its the Smoking Ban! Members I saw for my own eyes, absolutely bewildered. Asking, how do I rejoin, keep up my Legion membership.
Deal on route to China I think read this soon you will have absolutely no privacy at all
Big Brother Britain: Government and councils to spy on ALL our phones
Officials from the top of Government to lowly council officers will be given unprecedented powers to access details of every phone call in Britain under laws coming into force tomorrow.
The new rules compel phone companies to retain information, however private, about all landline and mobile calls, and make them available to some 795 public bodies and quangos.
No freedom of Choice, No privacy, just a load of drones working all day, dont think, dont drink, dont smoke, live on lettuce leaves, be in bed by 9pm, nuptials on Saturdays only by government order.
Deal another 4 bite the dust with plenty more to follow
Deal another 4 shut down
OWNER SHUTS BARS AFTER TRADE DROPS
A Licensee has closed four Stoke-on-Trent pubs after seeing takings crippled by the smoking ban.David Turner has closed The Coach And Horses, in Tunstall, the Man O'Clay, in Bentilee, and The Foley Arms and Miners Arms, both in Fenton, after seeing takings plummet.
Sorry this is totally untrue, I am an asthma sufferer, and missed months of schooling, it was not until I joined the forces, that my asthma was relieved a little as not many in the barracks smoked. But since I have lived in a smoke free environment, my syptoms have alleviated a great deal.
I think that smokers are just as radical and biased as non smokers, if not more so because they are addicts. So why should there be any complaints. I spent my childhood in misery from the stench of these abominations, I wish I'd had none smoking parents, I though was not as lucky as my kids are. I am at least glad I can give them that, and can add to the fact that I am also not a craven addict.
As for dealing with little Hitlers, anyone who willfully through their addiction, makes a child suffer day after day with their poison must be a nearer comparison to Hitler than those who have consideration and don't pollute the air of others.
personally, I now do not keep the company of smokers at all. All my friends are none smoking individuals. Thankfully at last I am rid of that obnoxious toxic weed.
Incidentally neither of my children have either developed asthma or needed treatment for it. Also Neither of them have been subject to smoking. Two truth's maybe one is not really so far from the other.
I cannot believe the rubbish written by some of the people on this topic. Denial of democratic rights? How cana ban on smoking in Public Places be a denial of democratic rights when smokers are in the minority ie; about 25% of adults smoke! For years this minority have denied the majority their right to go out for an evening and not have the air polluted by ignorant and inconsiderate people who seem to think it is their god given right to smoke and stuff the rights of others!
As for smoking has existed from the year dot, I think some people should go back to school and read up on Sir Walter Raleigh. Smoking was for centuries the addiction of the rich because tobacco was expensive, mainly through heavy taxes!
It only became commonplace in the late eighteenth century when more land became available in America after the Seven Years War saw the French ejected.
I do agree that smoking rooms should have been an alternative, many years ago there was the practice in many pubs and clubs to have non-smoking rooms, although these were mainly for the ladies.
Well I am sorry Whitewolf01 I totally disagree with you on asthma. I have suffered with asthma all my life and smoking has not affected me at all quite the opposite in fact. Whenever I stop smoking the asthma gets worse. When I go abroad for holidays the asthma totally goes as does the steaming nose and eyes – as soon as I step off the plane back here within 30 minutes it starts again, first a streaming nose, then the wheezing and then the eyes. The air in this country is c**p. Consider this 40 years ago 80% of the polulation smoked asthma was hardly heard of, today about 25 to 30% of the population smoked, asthma has risen dramatically. So smoking rates have gone down asthma rates have soared. 40 years ago not many people owned cars or flew abroad, today the roads are clogged and everybody is on cheap flights. There is no such thing as clean fresh air in this country and smoking has not contributed at all to the rise in asthma rates.
With regard to children WHO stated that children of smokers are afforded a 22% protection against lung cancer – so perhaps you should thank your parents not berate them!.
In conclusion read this from WHO on urban air pollution, give up your car and stop flying.
How can a ban on smoking in Public Places be a denial of democratic rights
Smoking bans are a gross infringement of PRIVATE property rights. Pubs are not PUBLICALLY owned they are PRIVATELY owned. Whether smoking takes place on the premises should be the owners decision and no one elses, not the smoker, not the non smoker and definitely not government. With regard to clubs it should be the members choice as to whether smoking takes place or not, members were denied the right of their democratic vote. No one is forced over the threshold of a pub or club, no one is forced to work there, what people like you and whitewolf01 are doing is demanding that publicans accommodate you and you alone, with no regard for his rights and his business at all.
Quote:
smokers are in the minority ie; about 25% of adults smoke!
– since when in Britain did we ban things because people are a minority, that is an appalling statement to make, total playground bullying mentality – there is more of us so you will do what we say or else are you realy a Conservative?
Quote:
For years this minority have denied the majority their right to go out for an evening and not have the air polluted by ignorant and inconsiderate people who seem to think it is their god given right to smoke and stuff the rights of others!
Wrong again people have only been allowed to smoke with the owners permission, and you want to deny the owner the right to choose what his premises should be, how selfish, ignorant and inconsiderate is that very I think.
Quote:
I do agree that smoking rooms should have been an alternative, many years ago there was the practice in many pubs and clubs to have non-smoking rooms, although these were mainly for the ladies.
To some extent I agree with this statement because I believe in freedom and democratic choice, but actually this may come as a shock to you, I dont wish to socialise with people like you and whitewolf01, I wouldnt want to be in the same room at all. I much prefer the company of smokers who are friendly, good fun, cordial and kind.
You can have as many non smoking venues as you want, I dont have any problem at all with that, but by the same yard stick smokers should also be allowed their own venues where you would never have to cross the threshold. This Labour Government has refused smokers the right to their own clubs or pubs in this so called free democratic country, free my a**e – labour dont understand the meaning of the word freedom and neither do you.
With regard to cigarettes and the chemicals in them try reading this by Michael Mcfadden an expert on the subject.
http://www.antibrains.com/shs.html
The so called chemicals in cigarettes are in minute quantities, and are agreed between government and the tobacco industry. Hasnt it ever crossed your mind that if they were as dangerous as anti smoking organisations say they wouldnt be on sale at all or is that so simplistic for you to understand.
I shall now join Canvas in some quiet reflection smoking my tobacco which incidentally is free from all chemical additives grown by Indians in America.
Enjoyed mine to Canvas. Deal you will like this article just for "Pipe Smokers" like you
"Put That in Your Pipe"
"As an act of rebellion against political correctness, pipe smoking is hard to beat."
"Fanatical intolerance, as opposed to moderation and consideration, is at the heart of the smoking debate in America today. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration wants to ban smoking in the workplace. Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) has proposed what he calls the Smoke-Free Environment Act, which would prohibit smoking in
any building that is entered by 10 or more people at least one day a week (except residences, so far). What if the building is privately owned and its owner wants to smoke? Too bad. His private building will be classified as a "public facility." I am a successful entrepreneur who is responsible for sending millions of tax dollars to the state and federal governments each year--from my own taxes, from my company, from our shareholders, from our employees, from our clients, and from our vendors. This tax money finances politicians seeking to pass laws forbidding me to smoke a pipe in my own office.
I will say that I thought David Cameron did exceptionally well with his speech at the "conference" and I thought he would make an excellent prime minister, however I have still yet to hear him say that smokers should have the same rights as non smokers, so for the moment my vote stays in my pocket.
I agree Donnie, I thought David Cameron made an excellent speech. So did William Hague, so did Mr Clarke, when he spoke about Democracy.....hmmmm, then the line ended in utter Waffle, so I may be another one not Voting?
Smoking is always held to blame for cancers. There are other causes, petroleum based products are often carcenogenic for instance. But the one thing we dont hear much of is the radio active polution that man has thrown into the air.
Winscale, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, experimental detonations underground overground wombleing free.
You can read in the article that the scientists say the levels have decayed. Yes some of the harmless elements have a very short half life, but the heavy elements have half lifes of hundreds if not thousands of years. And it is these that are the nasty ones.
People, hundreds of miles away, are still being contaminated by fallout from Chernobyl. Its in the atmosphere circling the globe.
You will have seen scientists with a geiger counters clicking away, each of those clicks is a nuclear particle, "oh thats just background radiation". Yes and most is safe stuff but the level of background radiation has risen in the last fifty years. The rise is caused by nuclear events. Cancers have increased in the last fifty years, put two and two together, do the math yourself.
The article says from Winscale perhaps 240 cases of cancer. Do you believe them? I dont, stick a couple or three noughts on and you might get closer. Its easy to use smoking or petroleum as the cause of cancers. It takes the heat off the atomic energy producers. A convenient scapegoat.
Chernobyl The 2005 Chernobyl Forum report said that some seven million people are now receiving or eligible for benefits as "Chernobyl victims",
1957,South Ural Mountains: explosion of radioactive wastes at Soviet nuclear weapons factory 12 mi from city of Kyshtym forced the evacuation of over 10,000 people from a contaminated area. No casualties were reported by Soviet officials.
1987.Sept. 18, Goiânia, Brazil: 244 people contaminated with cesium-137 from a cancer-therapy machine that had been sold as scrap. Four people died in worst radiation disaster in Western Hemisphere.
1999,Sept. 30, Tokaimura, Japan: uncontrolled chain reaction in a uranium-processing nuclear fuel plant spewed high levels of radioactive gas into the air, killing two workers and seriously injuring one other
Relished your comments Donnie -and thanks for backing me on Asthma rates. I have my own controversial ideas about Asthma and your comments seem to support this - I think some tests have been done on this - namely problem with Asthmatics is the inability to hold enough Carbon dioxide in the blood - or something along the lines of "anaerobic breathing" - believe it or not oxygen isn't always good for you - reason for paper bag over head of people who start to hyper- ventilate - smoking of course promotes anaerobic breathing as it suppresses normal breathing to a certain extent. One other point - they smoke more fags in Malta and Japan than anywhere else and yet have the lowest incidence of lung disease.
yaosxx, I will look up my links for you on the rise in asthma and post, its definitely not smoking related.
Anybody that buys a pub in this country these days must be mad, this is Ireland 3 yrs on from a smoking ban, its crucified them.
Bars stay shut as sales go flat
"The VFI said that over 1,000 pubs have closed across the country in the past three years, and publicans are being forced to diversify in order to stay afloat"
"And drinking at home has become an increasingly-popular option because of the availability of cheap alcohol in supermarkets and in the wake of the smoking ban."
http://tinyurl.com/353uyn
If a thousand pubs have shut in a small country like Ireland, wonder what it is going to do to England, its already started in Scotland.
Im not a binge drinker - I just like to go to the pub for a few drinks, conversation ect but those type of pubs are set to go down the pan. All that will be left is those big Pubco establishments where all the kids go to get as drunk as possible.
Oh Donnie, last night was brilliant, on BBC Five Live. BBC, stands for Browns Broadcasting Corporation; if you didnt know. Now the Beeb are backtracking a wee bit. We had Democratic Wedgewood Benn, whom always Pleads Democracy, the two faced "B******", he left trhe conversation on Bottle Brown, and left in a huff!
Now according to 5 Live, wait for it Donnie! The Police, whom are in short supply, and Crime has gone up. Now under Herr Brown(The Yellow Belly Party), are now putting Plain Police Officers in Pubs, to ensure nobody is served, whom are "Drunk"
The mind Boggles. Doesnt matter about Murders, Robberies, Rapes etc, lets sort the Smokers, Drunks out from the Pubs?
Ive got a Vision for Britain, lets get rid of these idiots from power, whom earn good money. Whom have no ideaa how to Govern. Whom have over taxed us, with Stealth Taxes. The idiots whom take 60% in the £1, and squander it.
reason for paper bag over head of people who start to hyper- ventilate
funny you should say that I was taught when you have hicups to breathe slowly in and out of a BROWN paper bag, and you know what it always works - not sure why the paper bag has to be Brown?
"Update: We recently uncovered a secondhand smoke air quality test conducted by the American Cancer Society. It's result shows secondhand smoke concentrations are up to 25,000 times SAFER than OSHA standards for secondhand smoke. *And here's similar AQ testing conducted in Europe, peer reviewed and published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ)."
Deal yes I heard about the under cover police in pubs, seems like its already started in Blackpool
http://tinyurl.com/2njc27
Well why did they open the pubs 24 hours a day - stupid - next they will be closing them again you watch if I am not right - mind you if they hang on a bit the pubs will only be open part time anyway.
Strange isnt it I am an ordinary hardworking person, no criminal convictions and all I want to do is go down the local for a few drinks, conversation with like minded people who arnt looking to binge drink and all this government wants to do is criminalise me for using a legal product of which 4/5th of the cost is tax - angry you bet I am as are the other 12 to 14 million of us.
All interesting stuff Donnie - but as I said I like to bring it down to awareness of breathing - which is done all over not just in the lungs - and then it's done at different rates - slower in the abdomen - more in touch with peristalsis - the movement that goes on there. That way carbon dioxide is properly absorbed (bacteria lower down are anaerobic) and that way a better balance and protection is maintained. Also acts like a filter. Asthmatics are rather akin to an empty barrel trying refill an empty barrel (their lungs) whereas the fuel is elsewhere(if you go with the above).
Remember lock ins when the pubs used to shut at 11pm, the doors would be locked and the curtain drawn so that people could drink after hours well it would appear that lock ins are returning in pubs but for smoking now.
"Illegal smoking sessions - similar to booze lock-ins when England had the most restrictive drinking laws in Europe - are increasing as the autumn weather arrives following the July 1 smoking ban. One landlord of a remote country pub in Suffolk said defiantly: "I am a smoker and a lot of my regulars are smokers so during normal hours we are forced to stand outside. "But I am not going to send them out on cold dark nights for a fag. "So just as we used to have lock-ins for a late drink, I am now doing them for a late smoke." The most defiant landlords are in Yorkshire, where five per cent of licensees have refused to impose the ban despite the threat of court action and big fines."
yaosxx, whats your theory on someone like me. If I stop smoking my asthma increases badly and I struggle to breathe properly. When I smoke the asthma appears to go - I have always put this down to the smoke preventing the pollens and air pollution from triggering an attack - but when I go abroad the asthma stops altogether.
And if it doesn't work you'll come back and say it's all my fault! No but seriously I would say just learn to breath less and more gently when you're not smoking - overcompensate less with the muscles - the harder it gets to breath the harder you try - if panic sets in don't breath harder - breath less - might be hard at first - but as the body realises it isn't just dependant on oxygen you might find it starts to calm down. Even to the point of shallow breathing or even halting it for a second. Do it all gradually of course. Nothing intensive!
Deal,Canvas in my opening statement on smoking bans my absolute condemnation of them is firstly because of property rights and secondly the lies that have been told about SHS.
If this government took seriously article 2 of the declaration of human rights of 1789 sanctifying property, it would be obliged to recognize that it should be up to the owner of the establishment to decide if one can smoke there or not. While claiming the responsibility to make the rules, the government deprives the owner of thier property rights.
Here are some pieces from the following article
"The protection of property has become a fundamental issue in all civilised societies. This is not just a recent development but a process, which started centuries ago. The Virginia Bill of Rights 1776 and Déclaration des Droits de l'homme et du citoyen 1789 were the first catalogue of rights to adopt the following rights as being inalienable human rights and which have since formed the core of human rights: right to life, freedom, property and legal protection etc."
"Considering the various International Human Right Conventions (cf. Art. 17 of the Universal declaration of Human Rights, Art. 21 of the American Convention on Human Rights and Art. 1 of Protocol 1 to the European Convention on Human Rights) this ambiguous interpretation is somewhat surprising and alarming at the same time, because it may well help communism to come back through the backdoor. One should not forget that the loss of property rights either preceded or coincided with the loss of other rights, such as freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion etc .."
"The concurrent injury of property rights and annihilation of human life does not simply occur by chance. A man is: what he does and he possesses. The attack on his possessions is likewise an attack on his personality and his right to life."
"Property is surely a right of mankind as real as liberty." and, "The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence – President John Adams (1797-1801)"
Prior to this there was the Magna Carta
By removing the owners property rights which Labour and Liberals have done they have ensured that we are no longer free to do what we want in our own homes and we are now on a slippery road - property rights must be defended and this Labour Government who are realy communists must be removed if we are to remain free.
Texts may smoke the rogues out
SHOPS where cigarettes are sold to youngsters could be shamed by text message.
Smoking ban causes 'havoc' on the street
Shop keepers and residents say they are desperate to move out of a street because of the havoc the smoking ban has caused.
Cigarette sparks pub shelter fire
FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a smoking shelter that was ablaze outside a pub.
Deal, they didnt think about all the other problems that would occur at all. With the majority of the pub sitting outside (if you have the room) the noise and disturbance to residents must be realy maddening, but then again how many MPs live next door to a pub! so why do they care - the other problem is the added litter if proper bins are not provided all because they wouldnt allow ventilation to be installed.
This is the latest from Wales
"Smoking ban has hit trade, says LVA"
"SIX months after the introduction of the smoking ban in Wales pubs have lost up to 20% of their trade, according to the Licensed Victuallers Association (LVA)."
http://tinyurl.com/33q9rd
You carnt stand those losses for long before the business goes bust. Its the small independent publicans I feel sorry for the big Pubcos have money behind them the little man dosent but then why should Labour care about small businesses
The MPs that voted for this spiteful, vindictive, facist law should hang their heads in shame.
