Islam and Muslims in the World Today

06/06/2007
I was at Lancaster House on Tuesday to speak at a conference organised by the Prime Minister. He asked me to take part to show a cross-party approach to this vital isue.

David,

A very measured and valuable contribution to a debate long overdue and good to see the parties attempting to address the topic in a non-partisan way.

I wonder if it would be possible to encourage/invite responses on this forum from a variety of Muslim leaders so that we can understand how they view these ideas of identity.

David,

I think it is always good to talk and encourage dialogue between Christians, Muslims and Jews.

There are a lot of misconceptions about Islam least of all among some Muslims themselves. So it will be good to see Muslim religious leaders appear on television to denounce the system of "Honour Killings" and "Suicide Bombings" etc...
