I was unsure of this website when it changed (the day Tony Blair announced his departure date at Trimdon) but I've kind of got used to it now. I don't actually agree with abcdefg that it's a giant step backwards although it does has its shortcomings.
I would agree that a few more posts from DC would be nice, as would a prompter to start videos and an end to the word wrap problem - although on the plus side the videos are updated regularly, and we now have a social forum.
I like the different forums and private messaging.
However, I do want David Cameron to interact a bit more in the forum. It's really not good enough DC!
I don't like the video auto start up on the home page. The home page is like a big party political announcement. Not good!
I really miss the profiles of users and their avatars. Really miss it!
I think I can cope with that weird word wrap thing...
what about the whole voting for question thing, do you still think this was a bad idea.
I think before this was removed, we really got the best of both worlds. If the party wanted to show how diverse they were or whatever we were shown this. But we also got to ask the tricky questions. i.e. (what do you think about MPs defecting. etc)
abc - have you actually asked David Cameron that question on this forum?
If not, why not? You might be surprised.
You need something to make something...
I don't miss all those annoying junior doctors, cannabis smokers, pistol shooters, moaning property crash people, etc etc etc. No, I don't miss the hijacks at all.
I much prefer this format, I didn't really feel there was much space for interaction with EACH OTHER on the old site - just loads of people talking 'at' DC.
The thing that really annoys me though is that nobody seems to ask any questions - they just post articles or thoughts or comments. You can't really complain he's not answering stuff if you're not asking anything!!
As a new comer I didn't see what the previous boards were like but as it is, I have no complaints. As for David not being around so much; I'm surprised that there is even a website like this!
In my book, it gives major 'brownie points' to Conservatives for thinking of this idea. The interaction is wonderful and it's something that Labour just doesn't have.
Amberlina is right. We should be grateful this website (created in September last year) exists at all.
It can certainly be improved, but denouncing it is going too far.
I don't miss the Ask David system - too many people asking where's their house, dude. LoL
The system was good when it was a variety of questions asked by individuals and voted on by individuals, but all good ideas eventually get ruined by interest groups.
Trouble I've got with my machine.
If I've hit the wrong bookmark & switch sites, or close Explorer - the D*@*M thing keeps talking to me!
Only way out is to reboot!
