I was once a floating voter but after far too many years of failure by the Labour government, I am back to where my political leaning should have always been
and maybe I am in time for conservatives to be the next government, certainly I hope so, they now have my 100% support
Yeah, Storm...whatever your leanings right now you couldn't do better than to turn your back on the completely, idiotically dangerous government we have got now! Well done!
Welcome STORM. To old-timers on this forum it may be a superfluous thing to say, but I am a lifelong moderate centre-right Conservative, and as such a 100% supporter of David Cameron. I'm fed up to high heaven with this Labour government.
The Tories aren't even that different to Labour anymore - the two parties are basically like the Democrats and Republicans in America. The rest of the parties are either immature rascists such as the BNP and UKIP or haven't got anywhere near enough support like the Greens and Liberal Democrats.
Take a look at differences in attitudes on ID cards, first-time buyers, inheritance tax, taxation, the EU, the way the NHS is run and so on and I think you'll find there's lots of differences in Labour and Conservative policy.
Even the xenophobia charge won't stick, as UKIP is happy for us to relate to Europe on a trading basis and in other co-operative ways. So perhaps you should choose your words more carefully?
Thank you for the welcome, in response I need no reverse gear, simply because the Left have made such a mess I would now happily stay with the Conservatives than ever use my vote to empower the likes of Labour in Britain again
I floated long enough to see the country I love so horrendously destroyed and now feel change has to happen, for a long term and for the conservatives to get the chance they need to restore my country, its identity, its values etc to us the people
roll on the good times, they have been sorely missed since Labour gained power
You got my vote STORM,if David Cameron does half as good as our present UNELECTED PM dreams of,he'll accomplish 100% more
than those control freaks that refuse to grant us our basic democratic right of choosing our leader by a general election.
How do you know? Besides, as you know full well canvas, at general election time you vote for indivduals not parties. Any more of your nonsense and you'll be sent to bed with no ovaltine.
Yorker, Gordon Brown does not have a mandate to be PM.
The promise was Tony Blair would serve a full term as PM for Labour at the last election. That is what people voted for (don't ask me why). Gordon Brown IS an unelected leader.
general election time you vote for indivduals not parties.
In theory you do, but people tend to look for parties rather than names on their ballot paper - especially at general election time. Maybe not so much at local elections.
