Hiding the Controversial A-list

Posted by AlanWCollins on Friday, 22 December 2006 14:56:02

The Conservative Party has made no secret of having a short (but fairly controversial in some cases) list of it's elite candidates, but it seems reluctant to reveal this list to even it's party members.

So, David, why are you so reluctant to reveal the list?

I must admit, having heard so much surrounding the A-List I am not best impressed, I think it prevents those who could be and should be considered from being so.
I am a little concerned the image factor is taking over a little too much, I am and will forever be a true blue Tory through and through and I want to be an MP one day hopefully but I still think there are many who are more than perfect for the job who get over looked my lists such as the A-List, it isn't a red carpet of celebrities after all, it should be people who truly want to and believe they can make a difference in helping this country and what it stands for.

The public simply won't vote for the Tories of old - hence 10 years in the wilderness. The Tories need to change their image to get the votes. They'll only achieve this by a fresh approach. The stereotypical 'Tory MP' just makes people cringe and say "NO THANKS" ! David Cameron knows that serious change must take place - time waits for no one.

Dave needs to do what he has to do on this one, and good luck to him. The trouble of leaving selection to the constituencies is that they frequently come up with the same result, and the females too often come a close second which is worthless in this game.

Fair play to the membership for having the vision to elect Mr Cameron, this vision now needs to extend right throughout the party.
