Are you a Freemason?

Posted by flamesong on Monday, 05 March 2007 00:20:20

Given that Freemasonry requires loyalty from its members (it could credibly be claimed on pain of death) which transcends anything and everything else , membership cannot be compatible with democracy.
Are you willing to divulge whether or not you are a member of the Freemasons?
Are you willing to name the Conservative Members of Parliament who are members of the Freemasons?
In view of the current issue regarding a photograph of you with other members of the Bullingdon Club, perhaps it would not be impertinent to ask if you are a member of any other secret/elite organisations.

I reckon you ought to present a question that is at least significantly altered from last time, flamesong. It does fall under the description of 'inappropriate content', as given by the site administrators, to repost exactly the same question multiple times. I know you're doing it to get into this voting week, but still...

More to the point of your question, If David Cameron WERE a Freemason, would he tell you? If he did he would be betraying the society, and so he rapidly wouldn't be a Freemason any more. I'm not entirely certain what response you expect to this question! The other question I would ask is exactly how much difference would it make to you? For instance, if you agreed with every single one of David Cameron's policies, and you found yourself not agreeing with the policies of any other party, would the answer to this question still bear relevance to your vote?

I think this a very pertinent question, focusing as it does on the issue of politicians' loyalty not necessarily lying with the interests of the electorate.

I think that this would have been a top three question if David hadn't got the Lodge to arrange the sacking of all the Baby Docs so that they bombarded this site and he didn't have to answer it ;-)

My money is he is a Mason and a Bilderberger. If he's not he's not gonna be PM.

I very much doubt he actully IS a Biderberger, Kenneth, although I agree about him more than likely being a Freemason. In my understanding, it's only the super-rich who get to be actually IN the Bilderbergers; whilst Davey-boy may one day BECOME a member I'd imagine he hasn't been in politics long enough to line his pocket to that extent yet. Look more at the Cheney's, & Rumsfelds from the ranks of politicians, as well as the top ranks of the world's media moguls, industrialists, essentially those who compose the "power elite". I've no doubt that David was selected by the 'Bergers though - much as Tony Bliar was. Otherwise he just wouldn't be in the position he is, simple as that!

This question will probably be answered from last week anyway, seeing as the top 3 were all on the same subject.

...I have friends and family who are free-masons.

3Masons are everywhere, try finding one and no one is, until you know how to ask ;)

David are you on the square?

A great question, flamesong.

As an aside, do MPs have to declare membership of secret societies?
