Smoking for the Elite

Will you confirm if this really true?
That members' bars in the House of Commons are to be exempt from the forthcoming smoking ban? Because frankly I can't believe it.

If this is so, how can such arrogant despotism possibly be justified? Does the electorate mean so little to our lawmakers that we can be so insulted?

Definitely one law for privileged tyrants while the plebs go to the wall.

Believe it Shatftmonde, one rule for them and one rule for us, is about right for the shower of holier than thou Mps we have for government.
Destroy citizens social lives who use a legal product and they want us to vote for them. They all need to get real, there not a piece of thread between the 3 parties.
Did you know the FDA now want control of Big T?

When it turns out their purported solution would actually institutionalize the very problem at hand, I think it's time to do more than simply ask questions.

A ban brought in - with lies, corruption and spin

Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.''
Churchill

Shaftmonde - this is correct, westminster is classed as one of the Queens palaces, therefore a home so smoking bans dont apply. However, what about thousands of publicans homes which are private property why carnt they be allowed a room for their smoking guests - well yes of course I forgot how foolish of me one rule for the masters another for the drones - some democracy. Plus dont forget we are going to have odious under cover smoke police with cameras infiltrating the population whose job it will be to persecute people using a legal product. this country has sunk to an all time low.

Shaftmonde this is what has happened in ireland following the smoking ban, Scotland is going the same way. The media no longer report the true facts, but thank goodness the internet does as it is not controlled by anti smoking editors

Hang on a minute, these are private houses not public houses, yes?

At least David Cameron himself has given up smoking. I do agree though, that pubs should be able to have smokers' rooms.

smoking rooms does not solve any problem, it means that a mixed group of smoker or non smoker must all be subjected to the some as do staff.
