Pistol Shooting in the UK

David, what are your thoughts on the banning of handguns in the UK.

As a proud holder of a firearms certificate, I feel that those who are responsible shooters are the ones who lost out after the ban was put in place. Especially as all the illegal pistols in circulation are brought over from abroad, as guns can be traced directly to their owner if one were to be reported missing/found.

I once read that in 1954 was a record year for licenced pistol shooters and in that year there were just four reported armed robberies using pistols. In 2007 there are four A DAY!

As you can see, this is clearly unacepptable, but clearly the ban has done nothing but hurt the responsible shooters.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated

I have a good 'picking up' dog hartford or will go 'beating' if you need it. Can one still get a shot-gun license?
