How will the NHS differ under a Conservative Government? Would we notice a difference?

Hi,

I would like to know how the NHS would differ (by this I mean hopefully improve) under a Conservative Government rather than the current.

I recently had the misfortune to spend 13 and a half hours in the A&E; Dept of my local hospital with my partner and was appalled at the treatment of ourselves and other patients. The minimum waiting time for Major Injuries was displayed as 2 hours! I find that astonishing given that the waiting room was almost empty. My partner was there with chest pains and had to wait over half an hour before an ECG machine could be found. We were passed from department to department and at one point my partner was lying in a bed in a ward and the Sister in charge did not even know she had chest pains! To cut long story short, the communication was terrible, results from tests took several hours to come back and doctors were few and far between.

It was obvious to me that there is a massive shortage of staff and equipment in the NHS. How do you propose to change this should you be elected?

Alan.
