Scrap Trident!

This Guardian article says that Trident will cost £76billion over its lifetime. Thats over £1000 for each British citizen. David will you scrap this disgusting waste of money please? It also reaks of hyprocrisy that we dare to lecture Iran when we are building WMDs ourselves.

Use the £76billion to build more houses or improve our trains or ANYTHING that will actually improve our quality of life.

How will the world look in 50 years? The Russians are replacing their nukes and rearming. They are aiming to produce new radar technology mounted on 5th generation fighter jets to counter the Eurofighter and Raptor.

I dont trust the Russians either, but if we were to be attacked, the Americans would come to our aid. There is no reason why we would need our own nuclear deterant.

You trust the Americans do you rennie? They rushed to our aid all guns blazing in both world wars and without them in the Falklands I don't know what we would have done. So nice of them to agree full technology transfer on the F-35 Lightening II we're pumping $2billion into so promptly without the need for us to join in two wars. Lovely of them to agree foreign sales of the F-22 Raptor to their 'friends' and 'allies' too, wasn't it?

Never, ever, ever depend on another country to defend you. The Saudi's cried foul when Israel blitzed Lebanon, didn't want to get their 195 F-15's or 120 Tornados dirty in the process though did they? The Egyptians could have mustered up 220 F-16's into the bargain too. Yes, we are 'friends' with the USA in international terms, we are a member of NATO. The Saudis and Egyptians are 'friends' with Lebanon, they don't even like Israel, not to mention the French, Germans, us, and the good old US of A are all 'friends' with Lebanon.

Throughout the India / Pakistan Kashmiri clashes China was 'friends' with both when it came to developing new weapons. We're all 'friends' with each other when it comes to building stuff to defend our little nations and selling it to our 'friends'.

We're not all such good 'friends' when it comes to getting our shiny little toys dirty.

Trust our armed forces to defend our country, trusting anyone else is asking for it.

That is an outrageous thing to say. Even if it were true, why should the American tax payer be expected to pay for the security of the UK. It is this attitude throughout the Cold War that has left Europe a foreign policy and military minnow, and getting less influential by the day.

The days of NATO are numbered because the US are becoming more and more aggrieved at the lack of ability of European armed forces. And as for the EU force, well it is a joke and the military are fighting it all the way.

Scrapping Trident, in the current political climate would not only weaken the UK personally, but push us further from the US, NATO and fundamentally weaken the defence of the whole of Europe.

Why the hell are we still arming ourselves to up more and more, WMDs is not war, its mass genocide with push of a button.

The world spends trillions each year arming themselves up, you are all fools if you believe more bombs will protect you.

These things will destroy the world over and over again.

Also, why should taxpayers pay for all THIS, This is all business, military weapons is a huge business, lets feed it more with our taxes, yes we are so smart, it will stop attacks.....NOT.

We CANT STOP POVERTY BUT WE CAN SURE BUILD A LOT OF BOMBS THAT NEVER GET USED.

Its all business, its not about who will win with bombs, its who can convince all the stupid retards, to build the most bombs.
Its all about making money, and contracts.

Any one who supports building any bombs should be considered a terrorist. Its a complete terrorist idea, to think that just dropping bombs on things will be the answer to diplomacy

Dropping bombs are for cowards. i will say it a million times. building and dropping bombs is for cowards and to make big business men richer, and with bombs.
