Are you a Freemason?

Posted by flamesong on Monday, 19 February 2007 00:55:46

Given that Freemasonry requires loyalty from its members (it could credibly be claimed on pain of death) which transcends anything and everything else , membership cannot be compatible with democracy.
Are you willing to divulge whether or not you are a member of the Freemasons?
Are you willing to name the Conservative Members of Parliament who are members of the Freemasons?
In view of the current issue regarding a photograph of you with other members of the Bullingdon Club, perhaps it would not be impertinent to ask if you are a member of any other secret/elite organisations.

Tony blair and David cameron were both educated at Eaton. I wonder if Eaton has it's equivalent of Yales
"skull and bones" fraternity which has both presidents bush, jimmy carter and reagan as members.
It is quite suprising the number of Eaton 'old boys' who have ended up in the houses of parliment.

Should we take the usual failure to answer or a "this is my private present" type of answer as a ...YES?;)

(On the popular tv cartoon 'the Simpsons' they implied the reason we never get an electric car on the market is down to the Masons.I wonder if David would appear on the Simpsons?)

WHY OH WHY OH WHY OH WHY are you always so negative? You could be surprised with a frank and straight-forward answer from David Cameron. I find most of David Cameron's answers to be very direct and straight forward. Maybe you're disappointed with the replies because they weren't the answers that you wanted to hear?? :)

I would die of shock to get a straight answer from almost any politico my sarky little cyber stalker matey!;)

Isn't being a member of The Freemasons meant to be a secret? So by the very nature of Freemasonary, David would be unable to say if he was...! It's a bit like asking someone if they're a member of the CIA or some other 'secret society' - they're not meant to tell you - they can't. That's the point...! Heehee! So, if he says "No, I am not a member of the Freemasons" Then he is either telling the truth - or he is lying because he is not meant to tell you the truth. And if he said "Yes, I am a member of the Freemasons society - infact, I am the high priest" Then that wouldn't be true either, since he would be kicked out for admitting that he was - because no one is meant to know!!!! :-D Am I making sense?! ;-).

This question cannot really be answered I don't think...!!

Mr B. :-).

ps - why does it matter anyway...? I don't understand...

Why must you all assume that everybody more successfull that you is a freemason?

some people do get to high places without being in a special club. Assuming that all politicians, dicertors of companies and your boss are all freemasons - and that thet is sole reason why your not in that position- is absurd and really preoves that you are jealous.

Who's assuming?

'Are you a Freemason?' is a question.

Either he isn't, in which case he will say that he isn't, or he is, in which case he will either come clean (unlikely), he will lie or he will obstruct the question.

The question itself is evidently more than a question but it is not an assumption.

It is amazing how much people fire off about the Freemasons.
The two subjects which are banned from discussion at meetings are religion and politics; thus you won't get very far if you join expecting to discuss them.

The penalties "on pain of death" were removed from the obligations of the first three degrees ages ago. You won't be put to death these days for revealing the secrets which are merely the passwords and signs appropriate to each degree.

As for "loyalty to members" that is another misconception; the loyalty within Masonry is to a supreme being (wether that is God, Jehovah, Muhammed, etc), your fellow Brethren in Freemasonry , AND your fellow men on earth.

As Worshipful Master of my Lodge, all money raised by charity is split equally between masonic and non-masonic charities.

If you expect favours from being a Mason or expect to profit from it; you will be expelled from the order.

If you really want to know who is and who isn't; pop along to Freemasons Hall in London and ask to see the books. The Hall is open to the public with tours etc.

I don't have anything to hide from being a member and I have not gained anything from it financially or otherwise.

Next you'll be saying it is a religion and we all worship Lucifer! There is a lot of rubbish out there on the net!

I'm fairly confident he's been asked this before and said no. David is too young and trendy for the freemasons anyway.

And you believe him because he said no??!! Hadn't you noticed "Right Honourable" are just words used to kid people into thinking politicians have unshakeable principles? They don't, pure and simple. If a politician says "no" my first thought is usually "oh, so you ARE then?!" And vice versa!! ;-)

I would be interested in an answer to this question.
If politicians are to be accountable to the people we should know whether they belong to a secret society or not.
If they don't want to tell us, that's fine.
But they should look for work elsewhere.
