Children need fathers

Posted by Popple on Monday, 12 February 2007 18:11:16

Sunday Telegraph 11 Feb 2007

"Britain has the most generous regime on the planet for women getting divorced. It is accepted that there is a duty for the non-resident parent, usually the father, to provide maintenance, but there is no duty for the mother to maintain contact for the children "(with the father).

"They have almost complete freedom to do what they like and the majority of fathers do not have the money to contest it".

I hope that David Cameron is taking this on board.

Skeggy:

I looked at your photo in your profile. You're the spitting image of my granny (deceased). So much for your manly ways.

Hello Skegy,

I was quoting the Telegraph article. I agree with you that in the old days we men went out with a club and got what we wanted but I do agree with you that feminism has gone too far. Given that clubs are no longer approved of people have to revert to Family Courts (if mediation fails) and the whole system there is loaded against men, unfortunately.

For years governments have totally ignored requests from fathers, and the importance fathers have felt that they play a part in their children’s upbringing and they effect they thought it might have on their children, with them not being there for them.
Now, there is a problem in society everyone wants to talk abut the” fathers”.
Society as a whole has ignored this issue, I have in the past posted blogs regarding the importance of father being a part of the children they brought into the worlds life, but even by the amount of comments and responses it has clearly never been a concern.
Lets talk about Green Energy, 9/11 Tax cuts, employees rights, human rights, adption and gay right but lets not discuss “fathers”
I’m sorry if I seem a little annoyed with this, but It is an insult to all Dads who have fought for the right to see their children, and the importance of being in their Childs life, and only discussed it when ministers want to use it as one of the reason for Violent Crime
