Mega Mosque in london

Posted by covas on Tuesday, 06 February 2007 20:51:22

David Will you join the petition (on 10 downing street website) to stop the 100million mega super mosque being built in London and turning london into the centre for Muslims in Europe or do you believe that this is the direction Britain needs to go and that we should surrender our christen values and culture to muslims (like most labour mp's believe)? regards

My God (no pun intended), but this is a very argumentative and forward, post isn't it? We are no longer a Christian society in Britain - which even I regret - but nevertheless, I believe that Muslims have every right for a Mosque, just as we would have the right for a church in other liberal countries. We are not a strict Christian State. Although I don't think we should have a Mosque at every street corner though... But hey, just my opinion

Allahu Akbar. Not even David Cameron can withstand his will...

Can I ask who is paying for this?
Is it the muslim community?

No, the mosque will be paying for itself, coolcatmillie. It's going to incorporate a brand new islamic mega super casino called 'mahal' so that the unbelievers can come and give their money to the mosque. The Imam is close friends with John Prescott, you see.

"where is all yous anti-religions racists now?"

Sorry, what exactly is your problem? A religion is not a race - Judaism is the only religion that could feasibly be called such, and even they accept new members who aren't of Jewish descent. Unlike heritage or birth, religion is a conscious choice of the believer, and should therefore be as open to criticism as any other choice they make. If a person had a job which you thought was immoral or wrong (say, working for a pharmaceutical company conducting tests on animals - I don't know if YOU consider this wrong, but some people do), would you tell them so? Would it be wrong to tell them so? Would you try and convince them to quit and do something more 'moral'?

There is simply no reason why a person's religious choices should not be open to the same scrutiny by other people.

The mosque in Newham is being paid for by donations from the Middle-East and Muslim charities in Britain.

To be sure, it would be heartening if the Archbishop of Canterbury announced plans to mark the Olympics by constructing a 70,000-seat state-of-the-art Anglican cathedral, but what would you put in it? Who would fill the pews?

Muslims pray many times a day and the small number of christian converts to Islam in this country will travel, so the mosque will be used more than the average cathedral (not all christians feel the need to pray in church).

Some groups are condemning the project and say the supporting group is connected to 'Al-Quada'. I say they are talking rubbish. Anyway isn't a mosque better than a Super Casino or a Nevada style whore-house?

Why should a religious complex form part of the olympic village? I would be against a large church as much as a mosque. Why does london need a mega mosque? when this country is not Islamic.

Blair's and Cameron are both hell bent on destroying the English culture. Why
