Multiculturalism a failed ideolgy

David

under your leadership and in the face of an ever more divided and devolved Britain would a Conservative Government abandon multiculturalism in favour of a system of Civic Nationhood and encourage all UK citizens to be British first. I believe this needs to be considered as a matter of urgency in light of the ever fragmenting British Union where Scotland Wales & Irish peoples are seeking a more defined National Identity. By abandoning the British indentity the UK risks walking blindly into a country divided along racial boundries.

A recent Home Office report concluded that Ethnic English children living in mixed race communities have lost their sense of identity and are marginalized At its most extreme it is clear that many poor white working class children do not know where they come from. This can't be good news for anyone in modern Britain.

A review of citizenship lessons in schools by Sir Keith Ajegbo, a Home Office adviser, concludes that white children are suffering "labelling and discrimination" that is severely compromising their idea of being British.

Multiculturalism has failed a generation of school children because the concept is fundamentally flawed. Forcing disparate communities to live side by side where mutual contempt and disdain is forever just below the surface just doesn't work. It didn't work in former Yugoslavia, Africa the former Soviet Union and it isn't working in Britain's inner cities.

"Nowhere"

The report quoted a poignant example of one white pupil in her early teens who, after hearing in a lesson that other members of her class originally came from the Congo, Portugal, Trinidad and Poland, said that she "came from nowhere".

That quote must be a real success for the Marxist inspired educators who set out in the 70s and 80s to deliberately transform society according to their own flawed ideology. Years of denouncing Britain's history as racist and imperialist, years of denigrating national heroes and belittling the achievements of our forebears have reached a zenith of achievement for the educators and media pundits in the words of the teenage girl who came from nowhere. In truth it is a nadir for the people of Britian whatever the ethnic origin.
While pupils of Trinidadian origin are encouraged to celebrate their Caribbean culture and pupils of Bengali origin are encouraged to hold on to their traditions children of native British parentage are positively discouraged from celebrating their history, exploring their identity. The situation is far worse in England than it is in the so-called Celtic nations. Welsh, Scottish and in particular Irish identities are far less likely to be attacked and reviled as much as the English identity. Marxist educators and broadcasters tend to dwell on the supposed historical English exploitation of the Celtic nations.

It is interesting to note that the report uses the term "white" when it really should specify ethnic English,Scottish,Welsh. The use of the term "white" is partly pejorative and encourages the fracture of British society along the lines of broad racial characteristics instead of allowing our people to call themselves what they truly are on grounds of cultural integrity.

I totally disagree with Rueben's woes of a divided Britain, what's more I think Rueben takes a blinkered view of Multiculturalism and a lack of understanding has blurred the difference between Devolution and a Multi-ethnic society. The United Kingdom is united and we are all proud to be British.
Here are the main conclusions from a discussion in class on identities. Children from India and Ceylon (Sri-Lanka) have been told by their grand-parents that the British brought many good things to their countries, consequently they have integrated well into British society at all levels.
My Indian friend scolds me for wasting food but I tell her off for for being unfair about the silk scarfs the Muslim girls wear to cover their heads - in fact I think it looks very feminine and my nan still wears a scarf over her curlers! Two girls whose parents are from Pakistan study Islam which is an interesting way of life and I am sure they have never expressed a racist opinion - they are more interested in studying.
A welsh boy in the class is liked by everyone because he is a great rugby player and an Irish boy gets ribbed only because he talks too fast and we don't understand a word he says when he gets excited. Black boys are great because they can 'break-dance' better than anyone and the girls seem to like 'going out' with them. But we all love each other and this is the essential thing amongst young people today. We all link up on MSM and we are conscious of globalisation enhanced by today's rapid communication around the world.
We are not going to be dragged into this ethnic war and if our leaders try to spread fear then we will sack them. Watch out for us coming up because we are anti-war, anti-racial, anti-nuclear, feed the poor countries (we waste food) . We believe in God or Allah, generosity, appeasement, Youtube Google video and mobile phones and heaven. We can't stand liars, cheats, perverts and Blair (sorry for ranting off subject but since you mentioned school children Rueben I hope in a nutshell to have enlightened you.

Sure it wasnt your intention Scrubs but you pretty well illustrated what rueben said re: 'children living in mixed race communities have lost their sense of identity'
