Recycling Who is Responsible?

David

we are all well aware of the recent frenzy about recycling and the subsenquent rise in council taxes. It seems that the people or householders are constantly being accused of not recycling enough and the only solution appears to be more guilt more recycling bins clogging up the back yard and higher tax to pay for it all. The current policy appears to be bandage the wound instead of treating it.

The one point which has been overlooked in all of this is the source of all the waste packaging which is indeed the large companies who produce the food and over package it in the first place - what incentive does the food industry have to reduce packaging none I suspect. And so wouldnt you agree that perhaps it would be better for the tax payer if the burden of recycling was passed or at least shared with the source.

Did you know that some councils actually ship their 'recycling' waste to China so that it can be put in a landfill?

They export Yorkshire Tea to China, aswell.
