The REAL Inconvenient Truth

Posted by Lizabeth on Sunday, 19 November 2006 01:39:12

I sent and have since resent, the following e-mail to the Energy Minister yet have received no reply.

I have made several polite phone calls to the Prime Minister's agent but have had no response.

I asked in an earlier blog, whether the Conservatives would ensure an Energy Minister stayed in the post long enough to understand the real problems?

The government has apparently done away with the post of energy minister as following Lord Sainsbury's sudden retirement (10th of Nov) Malcolm Wicks became Minister for Science and Innovation. Energy will now be the responsibility of Alistair Darling, DTI Secretary of State

Why should a few people be disproportionably disadvantaged for the rest of us? Some are in the Prime Minister's constituency.

I therefore offer this as an Open Blog on the webcameron site. The ‘detailed comments' mentioned below form the crux of the argument as to why any targets to reduce carbon emissions must be monitored annually. Nor should we be taxed further as we are already subject to that hidden tax, the renewables obligation certificates (ROCs)

For Attention of the Energy Minister' Malcolm Wicks

Thank you for the letter sent to Alan Milburn and which he forwarded to me recently. May I thank you for your prompt reply, However as it appears to contain unsupported statements and misleading information, I feel it unfair to involve Alan further and will therefore need to pursue these sensitive issues alone.

I trust you will allow me to make more detailed comments.

I blame no one but myself for not ensuring certain facts were available to your advisors on whom you must rely as the Prime Minister must rely on his Ministers.

Meanwhile I attach two letters from today's issue of the local newspaper, the Teesdale Mercury, 20th September 2006 .I believe they illustrate the general situation and show why I disagree with your statement that the North East wind farms have no problems. I had hoped to discuss this at the All Energy Conference in Aberdeen in May earlier this year but as you were unable to be there in person it was not an option.

Thank you for taking the time to read this .I hope you will permit me to send you a detailed account of my concern

democracy, rocs, targets, Energy, truth
